12 Discounted Full-Frame Lenses Great for Landscape Photography

Landscape photography is among the most popular genres, and for good reason. It’s a great way to get out and enjoy nature, and having success doesn’t require the fastest and most powerful cameras. Here are a dozen discounted full-frame wide-angle zoom lenses for Canon RF, Sony E, Nikon Z, and L-Mount mirrorless cameras that are excellent options for landscape photographers.

Four great Canon RF wide-angle zoom lenses are on sale right now, each an excellent option for landscape photographers.

The most accessible option of the bunch is the RF 16-28mm f/2.8 IS STM. It is compact, lightweight, and has a fast constant f/2.8 aperture. While it’s not an L Series lens, it is still very good. Thanks to a $200 discount, it’s also a great value, priced at $1,049, down from $1,249.

The next lens is a bit wider, longer, and part of Canon’s L Series. The Canon RF 14-35mm f/4L IS USM is an excellent wide-angle zoom lens with high-end performance. While it’s not an f/2.8 lens, which could limit its utility for night sky landscape photography, it’s still a versatile, high-performing lens. It’s $100 off right now, bringing its price to $1,399.

What if you don’t need 14mm but definitely want an f/2.8 aperture? Well, that’s where the flagship Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8L IS USM comes in. This fast wide-angle lens is arguably Canon’s best overall wide-angle zoom, and it’s a popular choice among enthusiast and professional landscape photographers. Normally $2,599, it’s $2,399 right now thanks to a $200 discount.

Rounding out the lineup is the Canon RF 10-20mm f/4L IS STM, a great choice for photographers who require an ultra-wide field of view. No other lens quite like this exists in the Canon system, but its ultra-wide field of view doesn’t come cheap. For starters, it’s a $2,299 lens, even after the current $300 discount. There’s also a practical cost: the lens doesn’t accept screw-on filters, a common tool among landscape photographers. But still, it does something unique, and it delivers incredible results.

The original Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM is $2,098 until August 23 at 11:59 PM EDT, a $100 discount. There’s also a $50 cashback campaign in effect, by the way. While this lens has been replaced by the outstanding Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM II lens, that lens is $2,598.

Photographers demanding an even wider field of view, particularly astrophotography fans, may also want to consider the Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM lens. It’s also $100 off until August 23 at 11:59 PM EDT, bringing the price down to $3,148. There’s a $50 cashback campaign for this lens as well.

The final E-mount wide-angle zoom option is the Rokinon AF 14-24mm f/2.8 lens. It’s $100 off, knocking the price to $1,099. This relatively compact, lightweight f/2.8 zoom lens is a great option for landscape photographers who want to keep their kits as small as possible. It also accepts common 77mm front filters, which is a nice bonus.

On the Nikon side, three awesome wide-angle zooms are on sale right now, including a pair of relatively accessible options.

The Nikon Nikkor Z 14-30mm f/4 S is the company’s affordable alternative to its top-of-the-line Nikkor Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S — more on that in a moment. The lens is $300 off until August 23 at 11:59 PM EDT, bringing it to $1,096.95 from the usual $1,396.95.

The Nikon Nikkor Z 17-28mm f/2.8 is also $1,096.95 until the end of the day on August 23. However, in this case, the discount is $200 instead of $300. This is very similar to the original Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 lens, and that’s surely no coincidence.

Nikon’s flagship wide-angle zoom lens, the Nikkor Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S, is outstanding. It’s also $700 off through the end of the day on August 23. It’s $1,996.95 for a limited time, making it one of the best-value professional wide-angle zoom lenses on the market right now.

The most affordable wide-angle lens on this list is the Panasonic Lumix S 14-28mm f/4-5.6 Macro. While it’s not as fast as the others, it can focus as close as 5.9 inches (15 centimeters), giving it a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2. A half-macro landscape lens? That’s fun! It also doesn’t break the bank. With a $100 discount right now, the lens is just $797.99.

For L-Mount photographers seeking a bit more speed, the Panasonic Lumix S Pro 16-35mm f/4 is a great choice. It’s a versatile, reliable professional lens that is currently $500 off until the end of the day tomorrow, August 22. The lens is $1,147.99 right now, a big discount compared to its regular retail price of $1,647.99.
